Nyaikamba Mwai (she/her) is a storyteller drawn to the power of movement and imagery through lenses. With nearly a decade of experience in ballet, jazz and contemporary, she uses dance as a way to express what words often cannot. Her creative work extends into film, where she is currently producing Maitu: Matriachs of Freedom, a documentary centered on the unheard voices of women during the Mau Mau era. Through this project, she seeks to preserve history, honour lived experiences, and tell stories with care, depth, and emotional truth. Nyaikamba is especially interested in creating work that feels cinematic and personal.
